Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented hands-on system that treats soft tissue injuries. Soft tissues are subject to a variety of injuries including adhesions, joint dysfunction, repetitive strains and tissue hypoxia. Using their hands to evaluate the tightness, texture and movement of muscles, fascia, ligaments, tendons and nerves, providers treat soft tissue injuries using very specific movements and precisely directed tension. ART features over 500 specific treatment protocols and requires providers to have a very advanced “feel” for the texture, movement, and tension in tissues. This results in unique, individualized treatment for each patient and better results. Conditions and injuries treated by this technique include: elbows, wrists, hands, sciatic nerve, rotator cuff, low back pain, neck pain, soft tissue ankle injuries, foot conditions, and shin splints. Dr. Maire is the only practitioner Full Body Certified in Grand Island.

ART Corporate Solutions is recognized by OSHA and the Department of Labor as a wellness, prevention, or first aid measure. In a corporate environment, ART is utilized as a wellness program to prevent soft tissue injuries from arising. Offering this program can help reduce worker’s compensation costs and injuries due to repetitive strain and sprains. In addition, ART may also be offered to treat minor discomforts that have not turned into injuries, and help employees maintain a pain-free status.
